Vice President and Chief Technologist

Dr. John Pellerin is Vice President and Chief Technologist within GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ Technology, Engineering and Quality Organization. He is responsible for GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ semiconductor technologies in RF, Silicon Photonics, Advanced Packaging, and external R&D initiatives. From 2015 to 2019, he served as Deputy Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Worldwide R&D Operations. From 2009 to 2015, he was Vice President of Technology Development and Yield Engineering for GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ Fab8 facility in Malta, NY, including serving as a member of the Fab8 start-up leadership team. Before joining Fab8, he led GLOBALFOUNDRIES joint technology development team in the alliance relationship with IBM Microelectronics in East Fishkill, NY. Prior to GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Dr. Pellerin has held several technology development, technology transfer and manufacturing leadership roles with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in Austin, TX, and Sunnyvale, CA with international assignments in Taiwan and Germany. Dr. Pellerin earned his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.S. degree from North Carolina State University and a B.S. degree from the University of Florida.
